Full Stack Engineer

We are looking for Java Full Stack professionals to work on an Insurance project in Tokyo. We are hiring across Developer, Senior Developer and Team Lead levels, with the level determined

based on experience and leadership responsibilities.

Location: Tokyo

Project: Insurance

Contract: 12 months, with possibility of extension

Employment: Nexus payroll or Freelance

Japanese Language: Preferred, not mandatory

Open Positions:

• Java Full Stack Developer – 4 HC

• Senior Java Full Stack Developer – 4 HC

• Team Lead – 2 HC

Responsibilities:

• Backend Development: Build secure business logic and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Frontend Development: Design responsive user interfaces using Angular or React.
• API Integration: Develop and expose RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints to connect frontend and backend systems.
• Database Management: Design schemas, write optimized queries and work with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Deployment & DevOps: Containerize applications using Docker and support CI/CD deployment pipelines on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Quality Assurance: Write unit and integration tests using JUnit/Jest and participate in peer code reviews.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Senior Developers will take greater ownership of development, code reviews and technical problem-solving.
• Team Leads will additionally design scalable microservices, manage system integrations, enforce coding standards, conduct code reviews and guide/mentor junior developers.

Requirements:

• Developer: 5–6 years of work experience.
• Senior Developer: 7–9 years of work experience.
• Team Lead: 10+ years of work experience, including at least 2–3 years of experience leading or mentoring junior developers.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Java (JDK 8/11/17+).
• Good knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Knowledge of Core Java, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Java Spring Boot and API Microservices.
• Experience with Angular or React.js.
• Working knowledge of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle or SQL Server.
• Working experience with GitHub, Tomcat and Maven.
• Experience with AWS services such as S3, ECS and RDS.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Japanese language preferred, but not essential.
