Full Stack Engineer

At Rootstack, we are looking for a Senior AI / Full Stack Engineer to develop and enhance AI-powered applications for enterprise clients across industries such as energy, oil & gas, procurement, and supply chain.

The selected candidate will work directly with the project founder, transforming AI prototypes into production-ready applications. This role will be responsible for improving existing code, strengthening software architecture, implementing testing strategies, optimizing AI model performance and costs, and preparing solutions for enterprise environments.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Python and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with React and Next.js.
• Experience building applications using LLMs, Generative AI, and AI agents.
• Experience with Claude / Anthropic or equivalent Large Language Models.
• Knowledge of AWS and relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Experience processing PDF, Word, and Excel documents.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, testing, refactoring, and production-readiness best practices.
• Experience evaluating AI applications and optimizing LLM performance and costs.
• Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently, take technical ownership, and communicate directly with stakeholders.
• Availability to work during U.S. Central Time business hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance AI applications using Python and TypeScript.
• Build full-stack solutions using React and Next.js.
• Implement features powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and AI agents.
• Review, refactor, and improve existing codebases and prototypes.
• Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable software architectures.
• Improve testing, AI application evaluation, and error handling.
• Optimize token usage, latency, performance, and AI model costs.
• Work with AWS services, particularly Bedrock, S3, and RDS.
• Develop processes to extract and process information from PDF, Word, and Excel documents.
• Collaborate directly with the project founder and provide technical guidance throughout the development lifecycle.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock.
• Experience developing enterprise AI solutions and document-processing workflows.
• Experience preparing prototypes for handoff to enterprise engineering teams.
