Role Overview

We’re looking for a Mid to Senior Full Stack Engineer with a solid background in data to join a remote-first team. This person will take part in full-stack development (React on the frontend, Node.js, Python, or Go on the backend) and also lead the migration of legacy databases to the cloud.

We care more about adaptability than about a specific stack. We’re looking for a smart engineer who understands systems end-to-end, learns quickly, and takes ownership of what they build, from design through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute the migration of legacy databases to cloud environments, minimizing risk and downtime
• Assess existing data models and schemas, and design the target architecture and migration strategy
• Build and maintain data pipelines and scripts to move, transform, and validate data
• Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs
• Build and evolve frontend applications with a focus on performance and maintainability
• Take ownership of production systems: diagnose and fix bugs, handle incidents, and understand system behavior under load and failure
• Work with cloud infrastructure and deployments without requiring extensive handholding
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions under real-world constraints
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering peers to deliver measurable business value

Must-Have

• 4+ years of professional experience in full-stack or generalist software engineering roles
• Strong experience with React on the frontend
• Strong experience with at least one of Node.js, Python, or Go on the backend
• Strong programming fundamentals and the ability to reason about systems beyond a single language or framework
• Hands-on experience with relational databases and strong SQL skills
• Solid understanding of data modeling, system design, and API design
• Experience with database migrations, data pipelines, or ETL/ELT processes
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Proven ability to debug complex issues in unfamiliar codebases
• First-hand experience dealing with production bugs, degraded performance, or incidents
• Ability to clearly explain what you built, what made it complex, what went wrong, and how you improved it
• Comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision

Highly Valued

• Experience migrating legacy or on-premise databases to the cloud
• Experience with managed database services (e.g., RDS, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Snowflake)
• Experience with NoSQL databases and mixed data environments
• Professional experience with .NET or C/C++ / C#
• Exposure to infrastructure automation (Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible)
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes
• Exposure to monitoring, observability, or incident response practices
• Contributions to open-source projects or substantial personal projects

Advanced English (C1) is required, both written and verbal.
