About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer – Front End to join an established international organisation on an exciting 12-month remote contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer with expertise in modern front-end development, Java-based back-end services and cloud-native technologies to contribute to the delivery of scalable, secure and high-performing enterprise applications.

You will play a key role in developing intuitive user interfaces, integrating APIs and microservices, and building data-driven applications within a complex technology environment. Working closely with international engineering, product and operations teams, you will help deliver high-quality software solutions while championing best practices in performance, accessibility, security and code quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain responsive, user-friendly web applications using modern front-end technologies.
• Build interactive interfaces, data visualisations and dashboard components to support business-critical applications.
• Develop and integrate back-end services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Implement RESTful API integrations and work with JSON and XML data formats.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions based on microservices architecture.
• Work with relational and non-relational databases to support application functionality and data requirements.
• Develop, test and deploy containerised applications using Docker, Kubernetes and public cloud platforms.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and support efficient software delivery processes.
• Optimise application performance, maintain browser compatibility and ensure compliance with web accessibility standards.
• Apply secure coding practices, proactively identifying and mitigating potential application security risks.
• Develop unit tests using a test-driven approach, participate in peer reviews and maintain high standards of code quality.
• Troubleshoot complex application and integration issues across distributed systems and microservices environments.
• Work collaboratively with global teams, contributing to technical discussions, solution design and continuous improvement.

Essential Technical Skills & Experience

Front-End Development

• Strong experience with React.js, Redux, JavaScript and AngularJS .
• Experience with Material UI and data visualisation libraries such as Recharts.
• Familiarity with front-end architecture, reusable components and responsive web application development.
• Experience with design systems is advantageous.
• Proven understanding of web application performance optimisation and browser security, including CORS, XSS and CSRF.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards, including WCAG.

Back-End Development & API Integration

• Experience with Java, Java Collections and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of JSON and XML data formats.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture patterns and API gateway integrations.
• Experience working with message brokers such as Apache Kafka.
• Understanding of machine learning and AI concepts and techniques.

Databases & Data Technologies

• Practical experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or Oracle.
• Experience working with non-relational technologies, particularly Elasticsearch.
• Ability to work with data-intensive applications and support reliable data integration across services.

Cloud, DevOps & Delivery

• Hands-on experience containerising applications using Docker and deploying workloads through Kubernetes.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with container orchestration and container-based cloud services.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Experience with source control tools such as Git, GitLab or Bitbucket.
• Strong understanding of unit testing, test-driven development, secure coding practices and peer code reviews.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience building administrative command consoles, operational interfaces or data-heavy dashboards.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Business Process Management (BPM) or Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) platforms.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications within complex microservices environments.
• Exposure to AI-enabled applications or machine learning integrations.
• Experience working with distributed international engineering teams.
