Full-Stack Engineer (Internal Manufacturing Systems) - Work In Shenzhen

About the role

We build the internal software that runs a packaging and apparel-trim manufacturing business: product costing engines that price real customer quotations, a QC inspection system used on the factory floor, an accounting and VAT module for our Vietnam entity, an AI document-search tool, and RFID/GS1 supply-chain tooling. Eight modules, four deployment environments, one small team.

This is not a ticket-taking job. You will own a module end-to-end: sit with the costing manager or the QC lead, understand what they actually need, design it, build it — frontend and backend — test it, ship it, and answer for it in production. You will work alongside AI coding tools every day. We expect you to be fast because of them, and we expect you to be the reason the output is correct.

What you'll do

• Own one or more modules end-to-end — API, UI, database, tests, deployment.
• Work directly with non-technical business users in Chinese: turn a screenshot and a complaint into a precise, correct change.
• Build calculation engines whose output is used to quote real business. A number that is quietly wrong is the most expensive failure here — you are expected to prove correctness, not assert it.
• Read from our ERP (IBM DB2) through a read-only query gateway; write the portal's own state to PostgreSQL.
• Ship through our engineering standard: plan doc → feature branch → build → six CI gates green locally → self-review → PR → merge → watch the deploy.
• Write the documentation that keeps the next person — or the next AI — correct.

What you need

• 3+ years shipping production web applications, including at least one where you owned both backend and frontend.
• Python and TypeScript, both professionally. Our stack is FastAPI + Pydantic and React + TypeScript + Vite + Tailwind.
• Strong SQL — you can debug a slow join, read an unfamiliar schema by querying it, and reason about a database you are not allowed to write to.
• Professional Chinese and working technical English. Our code, documentation and Vietnam-team communication are in English; our users and our domain vocabulary are in Chinese.
• Daily use of AI coding tools, and a clear-eyed view of where they fail. Be ready to tell us about a time the model was confidently wrong and how you caught it.
• Testing as a habit. Git fluency — branches, rebase, clean PRs.
• Comfort with ambiguity: you'd rather spend an hour with the user than an hour guessing.
