Full Stack Java Developer

About the role

We are looking for a capable Full Stack Java Developer to join our team and help build, enhance and support production-grade business applications. This role is suited to someone who is comfortable working across backend and frontend development, writes clean and maintainable code, and works well in a collaborative Agile environment.

You will contribute to the design, development, testing and continuous improvement of software used in real-world production environments. You should be technically strong in Java and modern web development, with a practical understanding of software delivery processes and engineering quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality backend and frontend application components
• Deliver clean, efficient and maintainable production code
• Work with Java, Spring, Hibernate and JavaScript-based technologies across the application stack
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests
• Collaborate with team members in an Agile Scrum environment
• Contribute to continuous improvement across development, testing and deployment processes
• Work with relational databases including Oracle and PostgreSQL

About you

• Minimum 5 years of core Java development experience delivering production-quality code
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Spring and Hibernate
• Minimum 5 years of experience writing production JavaScript
• Strong understanding of the core principles of object-oriented programming
• Experience with peer code reviews, unit testing and integration testing
• Proficiency with industry-standard frameworks, tools and libraries
• Exposure to and understanding of software delivery, development environments, source code management and continuous integration technologies and processes
• Competence with RDBMS, particularly Oracle and PostgreSQL
• Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Ability to learn quickly and collaborate openly in an Agile (Scrum) environment
• Experience working independently and collaboratively as part of a remote team
