Work You Will Do:

Motivate your team to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. Manages a team of front-end developers and oversees project timelines, code quality, and resource allocation. Works closely with the resource management team to align front-end development with business goals. Develop and implement strategies to optimize front-end performance and user experience. Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines. Facilitates team growth through training, and mentorship.

The successful candidate should possess :

• Ability to motivate staff and onboard new staff to improve quality, efficiencies, and effectiveness.
• A solid understanding of the industry standards and able to project future tech/skill needs.
• Proactively have direct and candid communications that challenge and progress department skills.
• Drive and implement corporate initiatives as needed.
• Develop new user-facing features within our global and design standards.
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with back-end developers and web designers to improve the usability.
• Ensure high-quality graphic standards and brand consistency.
• Expertise in modern front-end technologies.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in UX/UI principles, wireframing, and prototyping tools.
• Experience in performance optimization techniques (e.g. lazy loading, code splitting).
• Knowledge of front-end architecture and design patterns.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/4-year University degree in Computer Science preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 8+ years of experience in front-end development.
• Strong team management skills.
• 4 years of experience in D3 JS.
• Proficiency in JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as NodeJS, ReactJS, and AngularJS.
• Experience with MongoDB and MySQL.
• Exposure in building pipelines and containerization tools such as Jenkins/Docker.
• Experience with data visualization tools and best practices on implementing them.
• Experience with designing and implementing software automation testing for front-end.
• Deep understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Experience supervising and delegating work within collaborative teams, with a proven ability. to provide effective, actionable feedback to inspire teams and help junior talent grow and improve.
• Strong English and Spanish oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Costa Rica without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with marketing professional services (consulting) or other B2B experience preferred.
• A focus on Agile processes a plus.
