Full Stack/Data Engineer - Cloud FinOps Platform | GeakMinds | Chennai

Job Summary

We are looking for a strong Full Stack / Data Engineer to join a small core team building a Cloud Cost Management and FinOps platform across AWS, Azure and GCP. The platform will ingest and standardize cloud billing and usage data, map cloud resources to organizational hierarchies, and provide interactive dashboards that help finance, engineering and business teams understand and optimize cloud expenditure. This role requires someone who is comfortable working across frontend, backend and data engineering. We are particularly looking for engineers who can learn unfamiliar technologies quickly, understand complex problems, work independently and take ownership of building solutions from concept through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Build interactive cloud cost dashboards using React, TypeScript, Vite and Apache ECharts.
• Develop backend APIs and application logic using Python and FastAPI.
• Process and transform large cloud billing datasets using Polars, PyArrow and Parquet.
• Work with PostgreSQL and ClickHouse for transactional and analytical workloads.
• Build ingestion and transformation pipelines for AWS, Azure and GCP cost data.
• Help normalize cloud billing data using standards such as FinOps FOCUS.
• Map cloud accounts, subscriptions, projects, resources and tags to configurable organizational structures.
• Build APIs and data models supporting cost allocation, budgets, forecasting, anomaly detection and reporting.
• Work with cloud storage and services across AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Contribute to architecture and technical decisions as the product evolves.
• Write maintainable, testable and production-quality code.
• Independently research and learn technologies or concepts required to solve new problems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related field preferred.
• Approximately 2-6 years of relevant engineering experience is preferred, although exceptional candidates with different experience levels may also be considered.
• Previous FinOps experience is not mandatory. Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn the domain quickly are more important.
