Pharmacy Technician

Play a key role in patient care! Join our team as a Pharmacy Technician, where you'll manage medication inventory, prepare medications for pharmacist verification, deliver medications to patient areas, conduct medication area inspections, provide technical support, and handle clerical tasks. You may also provide guidance to other team members.

Working under limited supervision, you'll use your initiative and judgment within Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) guidelines. Maintaining the highest professional, legal, and ethical standards, as well as adhering to all facility and TSBP regulations and policies, is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Manage medication inventory.
• Prepare medications for pharmacist final review.
• Deliver medications to designated patient areas.
• Conduct regular inspections of medication storage areas.
• Provide technical assistance to pharmacy staff.
• Perform necessary clerical duties.
• Offer guidance to other pharmacy technicians as needed.
• Strictly adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Required: Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Required: Proven experience in pharmaceutical assistance work.
• Preferred: Experience with the Pyxis MedStation System.
• Preferred: Experience conducting medication room inspections.
• Preferred: Experience with manual and automated medication repackaging.
• Must comply with all agency leave policies and facility rules and regulations.
• Ability to perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Details:

• Approximate start dates: 1st and 15th of each month.
• Minimum 6-month contract with potential for extension or permanent placement.
