Position Announcement: Full-time Adjunct in Chemistry

Coe College invites applications for a full-time adjunct in Chemistry, beginning January 2027. We seek a teacher‑scholar who is passionate about undergraduate education and high‑impact teaching practices.

Primary Responsibilities

• Teach General Chemistry courses with laboratories and other courses aligned with the candidate’s area of expertise/interest
• Contribute to departmental assessment
• Hold regular office hours and be responsive to student email questions

Qualifications

• A Ph.D. (preferred; M.S. required) in Chemistry or a closely related field (ABD considered with evidence of timely completion)
• Demonstrated excellence—or clear potential—for effective, student‑centered undergraduate teaching
• Ability to teach general chemistry with associated laboratories
