Full Time Apprentice Baker & Packer

Cream & Sugar Hawaiʻi is a family-owned wholesale bakery producing fresh breads, cookies, pastries, and other specialty baked goods for our retail and wholesale partners throughout Hawaiʻi.

We’re looking for a Full-Time Apprentice Baker & Packer to join our production team. This is a hands-on position for someone who is dependable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and interested in gaining experience in a professional bakery environment.

You’ll work alongside our bakery team to help with daily production, prepare and package finished products, and assist wherever needed to keep our bakery running smoothly.

What You’ll Do:

Bakery Production

• Assist with daily bakery production
• Help prepare and produce breads, cookies, pastries, and other bakery items
• Follow recipes, measurements, and established production procedures accurately
• Assist with mixing, shaping, portioning, proofing, baking, and finishing products
• Prepare and organize ingredients for production
• Operate bakery equipment safely after proper training
• Help maintain consistent quality and presentation of finished products

Packing

• Package and label finished bakery products
• Pack wholesale and retail orders accurately
• Organize finished products into appropriate containers and boxes
• Check orders for accuracy and completeness
• Prepare products for delivery and kiosk sales

General Bakery Support

• Keep work areas clean, organized, and sanitary
• Wash and sanitize equipment, tools, and work surfaces
• Help with ingredient organization and restocking
• Assist other team members during busy production periods
• Help wherever needed to keep daily bakery operations running efficiently

• Works well independently and as part of a team
• Previous bakery, kitchen, food production, or food-service experience is a plus, but not required. We’re willing to train the right person!
• A positive attitude and willingness to contribute as part of a small team

Schedule

• Full-time
• Bakery production hours may include early mornings
• Schedule may vary depending on production needs
• Some weekend availability may be required

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to repeatedly bend, lift, carry, and move throughout the workday
• Ability to lift and carry boxes, ingredients, and finished products weighing up to approximately 50 lbs
• Comfortable working in a warm bakery environment

Training

This is an apprentice-level position, and we’re willing to train the right person. Previous professional baking experience is not required. We’re looking for someone who is dependable, eager to learn our production processes, and takes pride in doing their work carefully and consistently.
