Full Time Cashier

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while handling transactions accurately and efficiently. This role is essential in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers in a grocery store environment. The Cashier will also assist with stock management and ensure that the checkout area is clean and organized.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions quickly and accurately.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including restocking supplies as needed.
• Assist in supervising junior staff members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate change is given to customers.
• Support retail sales initiatives by promoting store specials and loyalty programs to customers.
• Collaborate with team members to manage stock levels and assist in inventory management when necessary.

Experience

• Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in person.
• Basic math skills are essential for handling transactions accurately.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and retail math is a plus.
• Experience with supervising staff or leading a team is advantageous but not mandatory.
