Full Time CDL Driver/Grapple Truck Operator

Saber Shred Solutions is seeking a Full-Time CDL Driver/Grapple Truck Operator to load and haul used tires from customer locations to our tire recycling facilities. Driver is responsible for safe operation of the truck and transporting to the disposal facility.

This position would run Monday through Thursday, with some Fridays. Position would require about 3 nights a week out of town.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of the truck and grapple equipment
• Monitor vehicle condition and report maintenance needs or mechanical issues promptly
• Follow all traffic laws, company safety procedures, and applicable DOT regulations
• Maintain a clean truck and professional appearance on job sites
• Safely maneuver truck in tight environments
• Safely operate a grapple truck to collect, load, and haul used tires from job sites
• Communicate with supervisor and dispatch regarding job progress and delays
• Proper use of the Electronic Logging Device in the truck within DOT compliance
• Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner
• Comply with company provided literature, training, and all existing Federal, State, Local and Company requirements, rules, and regulations that pertain to personal safety in the performance of duties
• Must be able and willing to work in the following states: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Wyoming, Iowa, and Nebraska

Requirements

• Class A CDL license
• 2 years related experience in transportation industry with knowledge of DOT laws
• Ability to work 40-45 hours per week
• Oral and written communication skills with ability to maintain strong documentation
• Ability to maintain strong documentation and communicate effectively oral and written
• Ability to utilize a computer/tablet for electronic processing of work orders which includes labor hours, and updating work order statuses
• Ability to function in a wide variety of environments to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather
• Ability to stoop, lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds. Occasionally push or pull up to 100 pounds
• Ability to sit in truck for a long period of time
• Ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times per day to perform duties of position as well as check fluids, safety equipment, lights and tire pressure on truck daily

Experience

• Welding and truck maintenance experience preferred but not required
• Previous grapple truck, boom truck, or heavy equipment operating experience preferred but not required

• Work hours may vary depending on job schedules, weather conditions, and operational needs
• Starting at $35 per hour
