What they need

Invictus Golf Sim — Winnipeg, MB

Invictus Golf Sim is looking for a Full-Time Chef / Kitchen Lead to take ownership of our kitchen and help us elevate our food program.

We are an indoor golf and entertainment facility with a busy bar and restaurant environment. We currently offer a selection of shareable food, sandwiches, wings, pizzas/flatbreads, and other casual items, and we are looking for the right person to enhance our existing menu, develop new dishes, and build a kitchen program that keeps customers coming back.

This is an opportunity for a chef who wants to have a meaningful role in shaping a food program rather than simply following an established menu.

The Role

The Chef / Kitchen Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our kitchen, including food preparation, menu development, inventory management, food quality, cleanliness, and kitchen organization.

We are looking for someone who is creative, reliable, organized, and takes pride in their food. The ideal candidate has strong cooking fundamentals and the ability to balance quality with speed, consistency, and reasonable food costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day kitchen operation
  • Prepare and execute menu items to a consistently high standard
  • Develop and introduce new menu items
  • Improve and expand our existing menu
  • Create food specials and seasonal offerings
  • Help establish recipes, preparation procedures, and portion standards
  • Maintain consistent food quality and presentation
  • Manage food inventory and minimize waste
  • Maintaining appropriate stock levels
  • Monitor food costs and portion control
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen
  • Follow all Manitoba food safety and sanitation requirements
  • Train and provide direction to kitchen staff
  • Work efficiently during busy periods and high-volume events
  • Help develop catering, tournament, league, and private-event food offerings
  • Collaborate with management on promotions and new food concepts
  • Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation

What We're Looking For

  • Previous professional cooking or chef experience
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Creative approach to menu development
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to maintain quality in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety
  • Leadership skills and the ability to train other kitchen staff
  • Reliable and professional
  • Comfortable working evenings and weekends when required
  • Food Handler/Safe Food Handling certification is an asset

We are open to different levels of experience for the right candidate. We are particularly interested in someone who has the ambition and ability to grow into a larger culinary leadership role within the business.

What We Offer

  • Full-time position
  • Opportunity to take ownership of the kitchen and menu
  • Creative freedom to develop new menu items
  • Opportunity to build and shape a growing food program
  • Fun, social work environment
  • Golf/entertainment environment
  • Opportunities to work on private events, tournaments, leagues, and catering
  • Potential for increased responsibility and compensation as the food program grows

Who You'll Fit In With

We're looking for someone who sees a menu and immediately thinks:

"I can make this better."

If you enjoy creating food, improving recipes, experimenting with new ideas, and building a kitchen that people are excited to eat at, we'd like to hear from you.

Experience in pub food, casual dining, sports bars, golf clubs, catering, or high-volume kitchens is an asset, but we're primarily looking for someone with the skills, work ethic, and creativity to make the kitchen their own.

To Apply

Please submit your resume through Indeed. If you have examples of dishes, menus, or food programs you've previously worked on, we'd love to see them. Payment will be discussed during in person interview.

We look forward to meeting you!
