Chief Technician - Large Commercial & Institutional Facilities | Wichita, KS

Great buildings don't run themselves. They run because of talented people who take ownership, solve problems, and lead by example.

We're looking for a Chief Technician / Chief Engineer who takes pride in keeping complex commercial and institutional facilities operating at peak performance. This is more than a maintenance leadership role. It's an opportunity to lead a team, serve building occupants, and make a meaningful impact on the facilities entrusted to our care. Position is contingent upon finalization of a pending management agreement.

At our company, we believe culture matters. We hire professionals who are humble, dependable, service-minded, and committed to doing the right thing. If you enjoy mentoring others, tackling technical challenges, and creating exceptional experiences for tenants, clients, and teammates, we'd like to meet you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, life-safety, and building automation systems.
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs that maximize equipment reliability and performance.
  • Supervise maintenance technicians, contractors, and specialty vendors.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex facility system issues while minimizing operational downtime.
  • Optimize building performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental requirements.
  • Support emergency response efforts and critical infrastructure readiness.
  • Oversee equipment replacements, facility upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
  • Maintain maintenance records, inspections, certifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with budgeting, capital planning, and long-term asset management strategies.
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations that improve operational performance and facility reliability.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive compensation
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Supportive, team-focused culture
  • Opportunity to lead critical facilities and make a visible impact
  • Stability, growth, and long-term career advancement

If you're a servant leader who thrives on solving problems, developing people, and delivering exceptional service, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and help us create safe, comfortable, and high-performing environments for the people who depend on them every day.

  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, controls, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams and coordinating outside contractors.
  • Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
