What they need
POSITION SUMMARY
The Client Advisor represents PM-ProLearn as an advocate, subject matter expert, and, most importantly, a student advisor. The role builds PM-ProLearn brand awareness, educates individuals and organizations about our mission, and helps identify and assist those who may benefit from our course offerings — including course selection, slating, invoicing, and achievement of their professional goals.
Client Advisors operate as members of a collaborative Client Advisor team. Each Client Advisor is assigned to a regional Area of Responsibility (AOR) and shares accountability with teammates for the success of every client relationship in that region — ensuring no client's experience depends on a single individual, and that every client benefits from the strength of the entire team. While the primary responsibility will be the regional AOR, employees are expected to coordinate and assist with other regional teams and company sections to promote a collaborative environment. Success is built on shared accountability, deep regional expertise, seamless continuity of service, standardization of execution, and one-team execution, particularly as military service members and their families relocate.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Client & Business Development
- Hunt and build relationships to create opportunities for individuals and organizations within your assigned AOR to attend or host PM-ProLearn courses.
- Contact and assist assigned leads within 1 business day of assignment.
- Identify strategic relationships and liaison with decision makers to formalize partnerships with them.
- Educate potential students about PM-ProLearn's courses and services at both the individual and organizational level, to include various funding options and help them develop a strategic plan for personal development.
- Advocate for the value of project management and how it aligns with military leadership, operational planning, and execution with the goal of driving interest and creating leads.
- Help service members and veterans understand transition, the project management profession, and the value of professional certifications.
- Identify and coordinate attendance to professional events or fairs, as required, to develop business opportunities across the region.
- Assist in developing branding and messaging based on client interaction and feedback.
- Utilize, update, and maintain Salesforce with accurate, current data so all team members can plan and forecast collectively.
- Create and utilize the tools available to you within Salesforce, to include Einstein and cadences to improve response times and increase touch points with clients.
- Assist in planning and coordination requirements for execution of on-site courses.
- Maintain relationships with students and assist them in achieving additional certifications offered by PM-ProLearn, or maintaining current certifications through the completion of PDUs.
- Execute company-driven initiatives and all other duties as directed by company leadership.
Team & Regional Collaboration
- Share ownership and accountability for client relationships across your AOR; every client should have access to the full team's expertise, not just one advisor's.
- Coordinate regional coverage with teammates to ensure seamless client continuity when a primary point of contact is unavailable, transitions to a new role, or a client relocates.
- Proactively share pipeline knowledge, funding stream knowledge, client history, and best practices with all teammates rather than holding relationships or information individually.
- Participate in collaborative planning for the AOR's coverage, prospecting strategy, and growth targets.
- Support teammates' clients and accounts as needed to maintain consistent service levels across the region.
- Contribute to team performance: results are measured not only by individual sales, but by the team's collaboration, client continuity, knowledge sharing, and regional growth.
- Work with teammates external to sales to create a collaborative environment and positive student experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Self-starter who requires little oversight; able to receive intent and create opportunities.
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
- Attention to detail and thorough, accurate data entry.
- Articulate in spoken and written communication.
- Comfortable presenting and teaching using various online platforms and tools.
- Ability to understand client needs and identify solutions.
- Steadfast in “doing right” for the student and the company; won't compromise integrity for gain.
- Creative problem solver — finds a suitable way to “yes.”
- Resilient and determined to succeed.
- Comfortable using LinkedIn and social media to build business connections.
- Willing to cold call and connect with others.
- Genuine team orientation — willing to share client relationships, pipeline visibility, and institutional knowledge in service of the team's collective success.
- Strong collaborator who communicates proactively with regional teammates and the Sales Manager.
- Adaptable to a shared-accountability model, rather than sole ownership of accounts.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Certification as PMP, PMI-ACP or Lean Six
- Familiarity with MDMP/MCPP/JPP and small-unit leadership preferred.
COMPENSATION
This is an exempt, salaried position with potential for bonuses. Performance is evaluated on individual sales results as well as on contribution to the Client Advisor team's collaboration, client continuity, knowledge sharing, and regional growth.
