Full-Time Cook

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our culinary team. This position plays a crucial role in preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our Residents, visitors and staff, as well as catering for special events and functions.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare daily meals following provided menus and recipes.

• Ensure food preparation meets health and safety standards.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food storage areas.

• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and timely meal service.

• Excellent communication skills

• Maintain a clean and organized work area with the assistance of others

• Experience, knowledge, or the willingness to learn puree, ground, and chopped techniques for special diet patients

• Self-motivated to perform at your highest levels

• Willingness to learn new techniques while sharing your skill set with others

• Experience as a cook or related role required

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision required

• Proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage

• Food safety certification required

• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills

• Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

• This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.
