The Christine Center is an interfaith retreat center in Willard, WI. We welcome people of all spiritual paths to a peaceful woodland setting for retreat, contemplation and community.

Position Summary

Seeking a full time cook with experience and knowledge in preparing and presentation of nourishing vegetarian meals for Christine Center guests. This position will join the kitchen team in providing meals in a welcoming environment during retreats. The hours of this position are based upon the retreat dates which are mainly weekend shifts Thursday to Sunday. Total hours per week are 32-40.

Responsibilities

• As part of the kitchen team the cook prepares the main dishes and side dishes for each meal for the number of guests and staff
• Utilize the provided vegan and vegetarian recipes and menus which include fresh foods sourced locally when available
• Ensure food safety, sanitation and general food and safety practices are followed
• Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary kitchen, proper food storage and handling
• Working with the kitchen team serve meals on schedule providing for special dietary needs of guests
• Follow required cleaning schedules for kitchen and food service areas
• Assist kitchen coordinator as assigned

Qualifications

• Meal preparation experience serving up to 70 guests
• Willingness to learn and prepare vegetarian/vegan meals
• Friendly, service-oriented attitude creating a welcoming environment
• Ability to work as a team and follow established practices
• Must have organized and efficient work practices
• Dependable in both attendance and quality of work
• Available to work primarily weekend schedule
• SERV safe certification a plus, or ability to complete provided training within 30 days
