Full-Time Rotational Nanny | Norfolk, CT

A warm, dynamic family in Norfolk, Connecticut is seeking an experienced, highly organized full-time, live-out rotational nanny ( local to the tri state area ) to care for their three children: a 3-year-old, 1-year-old, and newborn due in late March.

This is a collaborative position shared with another full-time nanny. The ideal candidate is nurturing, calm, proactive, flexible, and confident managing the needs of multiple young children in a busy household. The family is looking for someone who communicates well, works as part of a team, maintains thoughtful boundaries, and can seamlessly become a trusted presence in their home.

The family has two friendly medium-to-large non-shedding dogs, so comfort around dogs is essential.

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
• Rotational schedule shared with a second nanny
• Monday through Sunday coverage
• The family anticipates a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rotation, with flexibility for the right candidate
• Start date: ASAP
• Regular travel to the family’s second home in New York City, as well as frequent domestic and international travel

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, engaging care for three young children, including a newborn
• Manage daily routines, including meals, naps, diapering, dressing, and age-appropriate structure
• Plan and lead enriching, developmentally appropriate activities, both at home and out in the community
• Coordinate and attend outings, classes, playdates, and appointments as needed
• Support the mother and newborn during the day while engaging the older children in the mornings
• Prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children
• Maintain children’s spaces, including tidying toys and play areas
• Handle children’s laundry and clean up after meals and snacks
• Communicate clearly with parents and the rotational nanny to ensure consistency and smooth handoffs
• Assist with light family meal preparation, if desired—this is a bonus, but not required

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional childcare experience
• Significant newborn and infant-care experience required
• 3–5 excellent professional childcare references
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Valid driver’s license; family vehicle is not provided, though mileage or gas reimbursement may be available
• Passport-ready and willing to travel often, including internationally
• Up to date on standard vaccinations, including Tdap, COVID, and flu
• Comfortable and confident around dogs
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
• Adaptable, discreet, reliable, and comfortable with changing schedules
• Ability to swim is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience
• Estimated annual compensation of approximately $80,000–$90,000+
• Paid weekly through the family’s payroll service
