Full-Time School Maintenance

Position Summary

We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and self-motivated Maintenance Person to help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position is responsible for general building maintenance, basic repairs, groundskeeping, and assisting with the daily upkeep of our school facilities.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on individual who takes pride in their work, has a basic understanding of plumbing, electrical maintenance, and landscaping, and enjoys working as part of a team. Specialized trade certifications are not required. We are looking for someone with a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and the ability to take initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs throughout school buildings and facilities.
• Complete basic plumbing tasks, such as addressing minor leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing simple fixtures.
• Assist with basic electrical maintenance, such as changing light bulbs and addressing minor maintenance needs within the scope of training and authorization.
• Maintain school grounds through mowing, trimming, weeding, watering, and general landscaping.
• Assist with painting, touch-ups, furniture assembly, and other routine upkeep projects.
• Monitor buildings and grounds for maintenance needs, safety concerns, and potential hazards.
• Help prepare classrooms, offices, and common areas for school activities and special events.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies in an organized manner.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Work cooperatively with school administration, faculty, staff, and other maintenance team members.
• Perform other general maintenance duties as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Basic knowledge of general building maintenance, plumbing, electrical work, and landscaping.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.
• Energetic, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Dependable, punctual, and organized.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team.
• Ability to identify problems, use good judgment, and ask for assistance when needed.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, standing, walking, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly school environment.
• Previous maintenance or groundskeeping experience is preferred but not required.

Work Environment

This position works in a private school environment and requires a professional, respectful, and safety-conscious approach when working around students and staff. The successful candidate must follow school safety procedures and all applicable maintenance and child-safety policies.
