Vara Education

Be the Teaching Assistant who helps Year 5 pupils believe in what they can achieve.
THIS ROLE IS STARTING AFTER HALF TERM 2nd NOV
You are the person who spots when a child needs a little encouragement. You know that confidence can be just as important as getting the right answer, and that the best classrooms are built on patience, positivity and strong relationships.
If you love helping children grow, learn and discover what they are capable of, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.
A fresh start after half term. A supportive team around you. A chance to make a real difference every single day.
A school role where you are more than just a name
At Vara Education, we believe that when our staff feel valued, children benefit too.
We work with over 35 primary schools across Cheshire, Wirral and North Wales, with a growing team of more than 75 staff supporting around 14,000 children every week.
We are proud of what we have built, but what matters most is how we treat our people.
You will not be made to feel like just another person filling a vacancy. We take the time to get to know our staff, offer genuine support and build relationships that last.
We are now looking for a caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a Year 5 primary school class in Ellesmere Port, CH66 1QY, starting after half term.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm.
What your week will look like
You will be part of a busy, rewarding Year 5 classroom, helping pupils make progress as they prepare for the next stage of their primary education.
Working alongside the class teacher, you will support learning, encourage participation and help create an environment where every child feels able to succeed.
You might be helping pupils work through a tricky maths problem, supporting reading and writing activities or encouraging a child who needs a little extra reassurance to have a go.
You will help keep pupils engaged, promote positive behaviour and give children the confidence to ask questions, make mistakes and keep trying.
Some days will be challenging. Others will bring those brilliant moments when a pupil finally understands something they have been working towards.
Your role is to help make more of those moments happen.
As you settle into the classroom, you will build relationships with pupils, learn what motivates them and become a trusted part of their school day.
Imagine reaching the end of your first term knowing that pupils feel more confident, the teacher values your contribution and you have a team at Vara ready to support you.
That is the kind of experience we want you to have.
What you get with Vara Education
We want you to feel supported from the moment you join us.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who brings warmth, patience and a positive attitude into the classroom.
Someone who understands that children learn in different ways and that sometimes the most important thing you can offer is encouragement.
You will be approachable, reliable and confident building positive relationships with pupils and staff.
You will be happy supporting the class teacher, helping pupils stay focused and adapting your approach to meet different learning needs.
Previous experience working with primary aged children would be beneficial, particularly within a classroom or Teaching Assistant role.
We welcome applicants with experience from schools, nurseries, tutoring, youth work or other settings where supporting children’s learning and development has been central to their work.
You do not need to know everything on your first day. You do need to be willing to learn, take guidance and bring your best to the classroom.
Above all, you must be committed to safeguarding children, maintaining professional boundaries and upholding high standards of conduct.
Safeguarding and safer recruitment
Vara Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All staff are expected to share this commitment.
Appointment will be subject to our safer recruitment procedures and satisfactory pre employment checks. These will include appropriate identity, right to work, qualification and reference checks together with an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and Children’s Barred List check.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Applicants are only required to disclose convictions and cautions that are not protected under current filtering rules.
It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
