Full-time Warehouse Assistant

About the role

Steve's Liquor Warehouse is seeking a dedicated and reliable Full-time Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Derwent Park, Tasmania. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in our day-to-day warehouse operations. As a Warehouse Assistant, you will be instrumental in ensuring our warehouse runs smoothly and efficiently, supporting the movement, storage, and distribution of products to meet our customers' needs. This role is based on-site at our Derwent Park facility and requires a hands-on approach to warehouse duties.

Key responsibilities

• Receiving and unloading incoming shipments of products, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation
• Organising and storing products in designated warehouse locations using appropriate storage methods
• Picking and packing orders according to customer specifications and delivery requirements
• Operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trolleys safely and efficiently
• Conducting regular stock checks and maintaining accurate inventory records
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment in compliance with health and safety standards
• Loading products onto delivery vehicles and ensuring items are secured properly
• Supporting team members to meet warehouse targets and deadlines
• Following all warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and company policies

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working in a warehouse, distribution centre, or similar logistics environment
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently and meet productivity targets
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Forklift certification
• Basic computer skills for inventory management systems
• A genuine commitment to workplace safety and following health and safety procedures
• Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic
• Flexibility to adapt to changing warehouse demands and priorities
