Full-Time Full Stack / Mobile Application Developer Overview

eLink Design is seeking a Full-Time Full Stack / Mobile Application Developer to join our development team in Lexington, Kentucky.

This is an on-site position working approximately 40 hours per week. Hybrid work is available for the right candidate / situation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in modern web development and be comfortable working across both front-end and back-end technologies. Experience with cross-platform mobile application development—particularly PHP, JavaScript, React Native and Expo—is strongly preferred.

Our developers work across a variety of technologies and projects. One day may involve building functionality for a React Native mobile application, while another may involve a React web interface, REST API integration, database work, PHP/Laravel development, or troubleshooting an existing production application.

We are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies, communicating with a team, and taking ownership of the quality of their work.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, test, and improve web and mobile applications
• Build front-end functionality using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, React Native, Expo, or related technologies
• Work with backend applications and APIs using PHP, Laravel, Node.js, or similar frameworks
• Integrate applications with RESTful APIs and third-party services
• Work with databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
• Develop reusable, maintainable, and well-documented application components
• Troubleshoot bugs, performance issues, integrations, and unexpected application behavior
• Test applications across browsers, operating systems, devices, and screen sizes
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with other developers
• Work closely with designers and project managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Provide proactive updates regarding progress, estimates, questions, and blockers
• Follow established development, security, documentation, QA, and version-control practices
• Work within existing applications as well as contribute to new development projects
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve efficiency while maintaining technical understanding and code quality

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Experience with React, React Native, Vue, or another modern component-based framework
• Understanding of modern front-end development and responsive application design
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations
• Familiarity with backend application development
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Experience using Git and collaborative version-control workflows
• Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and test your own work
• Understanding of software-development and application-security best practices
• Ability to read and work within existing codebases
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to clearly explain technical decisions and implementation approaches
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Availability to work on-site in the Greater Lexington, Kentucky area

AI-Assisted Development

eLink Design actively uses modern AI development tools to improve productivity, assist with research and debugging, accelerate repetitive tasks, and help our development team work more efficiently.

We encourage developers to use AI where appropriate, but developers are expected to understand and take ownership of the code they produce.

We are looking for developers who can evaluate AI-generated solutions, identify incorrect or insecure code, troubleshoot independently, explain their technical decisions, and properly test their work.

AI should enhance technical ability—not replace critical thinking, problem solving, or accountability.

Professional experience is preferred but not necessarily required. Strong candidates who can demonstrate solid development fundamentals, meaningful project experience, strong problem-solving ability, and the ability to learn quickly are encouraged to apply.

Candidates should be prepared to discuss their specific contributions to previous projects, technical decisions they made, challenges they encountered, and how they approached testing and debugging.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
