• Functional Skills ICT/Digital Skills would be a significant advantage

The successful candidate will work with students primarily 1-to-1 or in very small groups, helping them develop their Maths and English skills and work towards appropriate Functional Skills qualifications.

We are particularly interested in someone who can make learning practical, engaging and relevant to everyday life, rather than relying solely on traditional classroom-based teaching.

An ability to teach IT, ICT or digital skills would be extremely valuable. We would be especially interested in hearing from candidates with experience delivering a recognised Functional Skills or Digital Skills qualification.

About You

We would like to hear from applicants who:

• Have experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills Maths and English.
• Hold a relevant teaching/tutoring qualification and/or have substantial relevant experience.

• Understand that progress may look different for each student.
• Have experience working with young people with SEN/Additional Needs – desirable but not essential.
• Have experience teaching IT, ICT, Digital Functional Skills or Essential Digital Skills – highly desirable.

We are not necessarily looking for a traditional classroom teacher. We would be very interested in hearing from experienced Functional Skills tutors, FE tutors or others with relevant teaching and assessment experience who feel they would suit our setting.

What We Offer

This is an opportunity to work in a small specialist environment, where class sizes are extremely small and staff have the opportunity to get to know the young people they support.

Our aim is not simply to get students through qualifications. We want to help young people who may not have succeeded in traditional education to re-engage with learning, build confidence and recognise what they are capable of achieving.
