Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to join our team. In this role, you will inspire and support learners in developing essential skills across functional areas, with a focus on literacy, numeracy, and employability. You will deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual needs, including those with special education requirements, fostering confidence and independence in every learner.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver dynamic tutoring sessions in functional skills such as reading, writing, numeracy, and communication.
• Assess learners’ current abilities and develop personalised learning plans to meet their goals.
• Support learners with diverse needs, including those requiring special education accommodations.
• Use effective teaching methods to motivate learners and enhance their understanding of key concepts.
• Track progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and lesson plans in compliance with organizational standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, or guardians to ensure a cohesive approach to learner development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly in functional skills or related areas.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage learners of varying ages and backgrounds.
• Experience working with children or individuals requiring special education support is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of best practices in teaching literacy, numeracy, and employability skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learner needs effectively.

Pay: £12.75-£13.50 per hour
