Functional Test Analyst

Summary

We are looking for a Functional QA Analyst to join one of our team: a small, cross-functional quality team embedded with a development squad. You will be the test specialist for validating business requirements, end-to-end user journeys, and release readiness across web and enterprise applications. You will work alongside the QA Lead, QA Automation Engineers, API Testers, Mobile Testers, and Performance Testers, bringing a business and user-focused quality lens to every release and helping the team prevent defects early.

Key responsibilities

• Review business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and solution designs.
• Identify test conditions, risks, dependencies, and coverage priorities using risk-based testing.
• Develop test plans, test scenarios, detailed test cases, test data requirements, and requirements traceability matrices.
• Execute functional, system, integration, regression, smoke, exploratory, and end-to-end tests.
• Validate data, business rules, workflows, interfaces, roles, permissions, and error handling.
• Log defects with clear evidence, severity, business impact, and reproducible steps; support triage through closure.
• Retest fixes and perform targeted regression testing.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, developers, and users to clarify expected behavior.
• Support SIT, UAT, release validation, and post-deployment checks as required.
• Maintain reusable regression packs, templates, checklists, and test assets.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of hands-on functional software testing experience.
• Strong knowledge of test design techniques, defect lifecycle, traceability, and risk-based testing.
• Experience testing web-based or enterprise applications across multiple integrated systems.
• Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and familiarity with API testing concepts.
• Experience using test and defect management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Ability to interpret requirements, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and the software development lifecycle.
• Experience in banking, financial services, insurance, or another regulated environment.
• Exposure to API tools such as Postman and browser developer tools.
• Experience supporting UAT, production validation, and cross-system integration testing.
• Basic understanding of test automation and CI/CD practices
• ISTQB Foundation Level or related certification.
