Functional Tester

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Functional Testing Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in functional testing, API testing, SQL, and banking domain applications. The candidate should have hands-on experience in test case design, REST API validation, database testing, and end-to-end transaction testing. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a good understanding of banking processes are essential to ensure application quality and data accuracy.

2nd Level – F2F (In-Person Discussion) at Chennai Location.

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong Experience of Functional Testing, test case design, test execution, and regression testing.
• Hands-on experience in REST API Testing using Postman or similar tools.
• Good SQL Skills, including SELECT queries, JOINs, subqueries, and database validation.
• Banking domain knowledge, including fund transfers, payments, account management, and transaction processing.
• Experience in validating API responses, HTTP status codes, JSON payloads, and backend data.
• Knowledge of defect tracking tools such Jira and understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Experience in end-to-end testing and data validation across UI, API, and database layers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze business requirements and prepare test scenarios and test cases.
• Perform functional, API, integration, and regression testing.
• Validate REST APIs, response payloads, status codes, and business logic.
• Execute SQL queries to verify backend data and banking transactions.
• Test end-to-end banking workflows, including fund transfers and payment processing.
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects using Jira or similar tools.
• Ensure data accuracy, transaction integrity and compliance with business requirements.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to deliver quality software.
