Functions & Bar Supervisor

About the role

The Bar & Functions Supervisor will work closely with the General Manager, administration/functions team and catering operations to coordinate bar service and Club events. A key part of the position will be liaising directly with function clients from initial enquiry through to completion of their event. You will assist with enquiries, confirm event requirements and maintain clear communication with clients and the Club team to ensure each function is professionally coordinated and delivered smoothly from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Supervising day-to-day bar operations and service delivery
• Providing professional and welcoming service to members and guests
• Responding to function enquiries and communicating with prospective and confirmed clients
• Liaising with clients regarding guest numbers, room setup, catering, beverages, timing and special requirements
• Ensuring all relevant event information is communicated to the Club's administration, catering and operational teams
• Assisting with the coordination of functions from initial enquiry through to event completion
• Acting as a point of contact for clients during functions and events
• Setting up and packing down function rooms efficiently
• Coordinating bar and function service during busy periods
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the bar and function areas

About you

• Previous experience in bar, hospitality, functions or event operations
• Experience supervising or leading staff during service
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong knowledge of bar operations
• Confidence communicating directly with function clients
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to coordinate multiple requirements and deadlines
• A professional approach to handling customer enquiries and complaints
• Sound cash handling and reconciliation skills
• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification
