Fund Accountant

About the role

The Fund Accountant will be required to support the financial management and reporting of private equity funds. This role will be responsible for fund accounting, investor reporting, and supporting operational and compliance requirements across the investment lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and accounting records for private equity funds and related entities including co-investments
• Calculate and review Net Asset Value (NAV) and unit pricing
• Analysis of key movements/variances including drivers
• Process capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations
• Maintain investor registers and capital account balances
• Monitor cash positions and reconcile bank accounts and investment transactions
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards for review by Investment Team and Financial Controller
• Prepare investor reporting, including statements and performance summaries
• Preparation of Business Activity statements (BAS) for funds
• Assist with administration of Annual Income Tax Returns for all Investment Funds

About you

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
• 2–5+ years' experience in fund accounting, preferably within private equity or asset management
• Previous use of a fund accounting platform will be highly regarded
• Understanding of fund structures, capital calls, and distribution waterfalls
• Experience with financial reporting and NAV calculations
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with fund accounting systems is advantageous
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders
• Organised and able to manage multiple deadlines
• Proactive with a strong sense of ownership
