Fund Controller

In line with our growth, we are looking for a Fund Controller (f/m/d) to join our Luxembourg operations team. Reporting to the CFO, you will be at the heart of our fund operations – overseeing two external fund administrators and ensuring the smooth financial operations of BU’s Luxembourg-domiciled fund structures. You will work alongside a talented, international Finance team with real scope to lead process improvements, build out capabilities, and contribute to BU’s broader platform.

Your Responsibilities

• You will take ownership of the financial oversight and governance of BU’s Luxembourg fund structures – spanning administrator oversight, reporting, tax compliance, and transaction support:Fund Administration Oversight: Serve as primary point of accountability for two external fund administrators – reviewing NAV calculations, capital account statements, carried interest and management fee calculations, and group reporting packages
• Audit & Reporting: Lead the annual audit process and act as primary liaison with external auditors; drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes
• Treasury & Cash Management: Coordinate and approve cashflow management across capital calls, distributions, and fund-level financing activity; monitor covenants on credit facilities
• Transaction Support: Support investment transaction execution, including drawdown mechanics, FX considerations, and intercompany flowsTax & Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate Luxembourg, German, and international tax reporting and compliance matters, including FATCA, CRS, DAC6, ATAD II, Pillar II, and K-1 reporting
• Projects & Innovation: Lead or contribute to ad hoc projects, including technology and AI initiatives within the finance function
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Finance and Investment Teams to ensure seamless communication and data consistency.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a proactive, hands-on mindset:

• Experience: 5-8 years in private equity fund finance as a Fund Controller, Senior Fund Accountant, or Big 4 manager with substantial PE fund exposure
• Qualifications: Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with a strong academic background
• Technical Skills: Hands-on familiarity with Luxembourg fund structures (SCSp, RAIF, SICAV); solid knowledge of AIFMD, CSSF requirements, Luxembourg GAAP / IFRS, and carried interest & waterfall mechanics
• Fund Administration: Demonstrable experience managing or overseeing third-party fund administrators across multiple fund structures
• Languages: Fluent in English; knowledge of German is welcomed
• Mindset: Commercially minded, highly organised, and confident in holding external providers to account; strong stakeholder management skills across Investment, Legal, Tax and CFO teams
