What they need
Aria Partners is delighted to be supporting a fast growing and high performing private credit fund with the hire of a Fund Controller into its London finance team.
The business has scaled quickly, underpinned by impressive fundraising and a strong track record of returns. With a lean internal finance function and outsourced reporting model, this is a broad role with significant ownership across fund finance, liquidity and the continued development of the wider finance platform.
Importantly, this will not be a heavily BAU-focused fund control role. Alongside oversight of the core fund finance responsibilities, the successful hire will play a key role in AI implementation, improving systems, analytics, reporting and processes as the business continues to scale. It should suit someone who enjoys combining strong technical fund knowledge with more commercial, project-led work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking ownership of fund reporting, NAV oversight and key investor deliverables
- Managing and challenging third-party administrators, auditors and other external providers
- Overseeing liquidity, cash flows, capital calls, distributions and fund-level financing facilities
- Working closely with the investment team around deal funding, settlements and ongoing portfolio activity
- Supervising and reviewing the work of more junior members of the finance team
- Supporting investor queries, new fund launches and broader finance-related workstreams
- Improving reporting, controls and analytics across the platform
- Identifying opportunities to automate and streamline finance and operational processes
- Supporting technology and systems projects designed to improve scalability across the business
- Helping shape a more efficient operating model as the platform, fund range and reporting requirements grow
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant with roughly 4-7 years of post qualified experience
- Closed-end fund structure experience is essential. Private credit would be highly advantageous but other asset classes also work.
- Strong excel & modelling capabilities
Basic compensation on offer is likely to be around the £85,000-110,000 mark depending on experience coupled with a market leading bonus scheme.
