Fund Operations Specialist - Hedge Fund

About the Role

An established Asia-focused hedge fund is looking for a Trade Operations Specialist to join its operations team.

This role focuses only on non-trade execution work. You will handle post-trade tasks for Futures, Options, Bonds, and Fixed Income products.

The ideal candidate should come from a buy-side background (hedge fund or asset manager). You will work closely with the investment team, internal operations, and external parties such as prime brokers, custodians, and fund administrators.

Key Responsibilities

• Check and process trades after they are done (trade capture checks, confirmations, allocations)
• Do daily reconciliations of trades, positions, and cash across internal systems, brokers, custodians, and the fund administrator. Find and fix any differences quickly.
• Help with trade settlement, failed trades, cash movements, and related payments for Futures, Options, Bonds, and Fixed Income.
• Handle corporate actions and other life-cycle events (for example: option expiries, bond coupons, resets, amendments).
• Act as the main contact between traders/portfolio managers, internal teams, and external parties to keep everything running smoothly.
• Support collateral and margin-related tasks when needed.
• Prepare simple operational reports on trade volumes, breaks, and settlements.
• Help set up new products or counterparties from an operations side.
• Look for ways to improve processes and reduce risks.
• Keep good records and controls for audits and internal checks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or similar.
• 3–5+ years of experience in trade operations or middle office.
• Strong preference for candidates from the buy-side (hedge fund or asset manager).
• Hands-on experience with Futures, Options, Bonds, and/or Fixed Income in post-trade work.
• Good understanding of trade confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, and fixing breaks.
• Experience working with prime brokers, custodians, and fund administrators.
• Strong Excel skills. Knowledge of trading or portfolio systems is a plus.
• Careful attention to detail and ability to work accurately under time pressure.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with others.
• Proactive and organized attitude.

Preferred

• Previous experience in a relative-value or multi-strategy hedge fund.
• Knowledge of collateral/margin, corporate actions, or options life-cycle events.
• Experience improving processes or using systems to make work more efficient.
• Familiarity with Asia markets.
