Duties

• Safely handle and transport coffins, caskets, and funeral equipment, ensuring secure and respectful movement at all times
• Assist with the preparation of funeral vehicles, chapels, and associated facilities to ensure a dignified environment for services
• Support the team in dressing and preparing the deceased with sensitivity and attention to detail
• Conduct heavy lifting of equipment, coffins, and other funeral materials while adhering to health and safety protocols
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of funeral vehicles, storage areas, and preparation rooms
• Collaborate with funeral directors to coordinate logistics for funeral services, including transportation routes and timing
• Provide compassionate support to bereaved families during funeral arrangements, demonstrating professionalism and empathy

Qualifications

• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of daily duties
• Strong physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and carry items over extended periods
• Excellent communication skills with a respectful and caring attitude towards clients and colleagues
• Previous experience in a physically demanding role is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
• A professional approach with attention to detail and commitment to maintaining dignity during sensitive situations
