Furniture Paint Prep Operative (Sanding & Denibbing) £13.50–£14.50 per hour depending on experience (£27,000–£29,000 a year) | Longbridge Deverill, near Warminster
About the role Arboretum makes high-quality painted and oak-topped free-standing furniture. We’re looking for an experienced paint prep operative to make sure every piece is in perfect condition before it reaches our sprayers.
You’ll check, sand, fill and denib furniture before and after base coat, so it’s ready for a flawless top coat. Prep is where a quality finish starts. Small defects missed here show up in the final finish, so this role needs real attention to detail.
We’re committed to high quality at every stage of the finishing process, and we’re always looking for better ways of working. We’re also moving from A/C (acid catalyst) to water-based finishes. We want someone who takes pride in high standards and is open to new processes as the business develops.

A real commitment to health and safety, for yourself and the people around you.

A proactive, motivated attitude and a willingness to adapt as we develop new processes and finishes.

Good physical fitness, as the role involves lifting and moving furniture.

Own transport is recommended due to our rural location.
