Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM Start

No Manufacturing Experience? No Problem.

Have you worked in retail, restaurants, grocery stores, warehouses, landscaping, or another hands-on job?

You may already have the skills we're looking for.

At American Woods, we manufacture high-quality residential wood furniture right here in Grand Forks. Our team produces cabinets, tables, bed frames, dressers, bookshelves, and other furniture from start to finish.

We're looking for dependable, detail-oriented people who enjoy working with their hands and are willing to learn.

You don't need previous manufacturing experience. We'll provide the training.

We currently have opportunities in three areas of our production facility: Milling, Drawer Box Assembly, and Shipping.

Current Opportunities

Milling

Our Milling team prepares and processes wood components used throughout furniture production. This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning equipment, and paying attention to detail.

Responsibilities include:

• Learn to operate woodworking machinery and production equipment
• Handle, position, and process wood components
• Inspect materials for quality and accuracy
• Follow work instructions and established safety procedures
• Maintain an organized work area
• Work with team members to meet production goals

Transferable skills: Landscaping, construction, warehouse work, equipment operation, food production, or other jobs requiring coordination, accuracy, and a steady work pace.

Drawer Box Assembly

Our Drawer Box team builds the drawers used in our finished furniture. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys assembling products, working with their hands, and seeing the results of their work.

Responsibilities include:

• Assemble wooden drawer boxes and components
• Use tools and equipment to complete assembly tasks
• Check parts for proper fit, alignment, and quality
• Handle and organize materials
• Follow established assembly processes
• Maintain consistent quality and productivity

Transferable skills: Retail, food service, stocking, packaging, crafting, assembly, or any work requiring organization, repetition, and attention to detail.

Shipping

Our Shipping team prepares finished furniture for delivery, ensuring products are properly handled, protected, and organized.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and package finished furniture for shipment
• Handle, move, and stage completed products
• Inspect products and packaging for quality and accuracy
• Organize materials and maintain an efficient work area
• Follow safe material-handling procedures
• Work with team members to meet daily shipping goals

Transferable skills: Grocery stocking, retail, delivery, moving, warehouse operations, restaurant work, or other physically active jobs requiring teamwork and organization.

These positions involve standing, moving, handling materials, and performing hands-on work throughout the workday.

Pay & Schedule

Starting Pay: $18–$20 per hour

Starting wages are based on the position and relevant qualifications.

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday
• 6:00 AM start
• Current end times are approximately 2:30 PM–3:30 PM, depending on production needs
• Day shift with no rotating shifts
