Fusion Technical Reporting

The Fusion Technical Reporting Specialist will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of critical reports within the Oracle Fusion Applications suite. This role requires a deep understanding of Oracle Fusion data models, reporting tools such as Oracle BI Publisher, OTBI (Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence), and FRS (Financial Reporting Studio), and strong SQL/PLSQL skills. The specialist will work closely with functional teams and business users to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver robust and accurate reporting solutions that support key business decisions. This position is crucial for ensuring data visibility and operational efficiency across various Fusion modules.

• Core Technical Skills (Must Have)

  Oracle BI Publisher (BIP)

  • Building data models (SQL-based, with parameters, bursting, and data triggers) and layouts (RTF, Excel, XSL-FO, eText)
  • Developing and customizing seeded reports, with performance tuning for large data volumes
  • Scheduling, bursting, and delivery to email, SFTP, and WebDAV
  • Calling BIP as a SOAP or REST service for integrations

  Oracle BI Cloud Connector (BICC)

  • Configuring data extracts using preconfigured and custom offerings and View Objects (VOs/PVOs)
  • Full and incremental extract strategies, job scheduling, and failure handling
  • Creating custom VOs, including DFF and EFF attribute handling
  • Managing extract output in OCI Object Storage / UCM and downstream consumption

  Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC)

  • Data modeling in the semantic model (RPD/Semantic Modeler): physical, logical, and presentation layers
  • Building datasets, data flows, workbooks, and pixel-perfect reports
  • Row- and column-level security and application role mapping
  • Performance tuning, caching, and administration

  Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI)

  • Hands-on experience with FDI pipelines for Finance, SCM, HCM, and Procurement
  • Extending prebuilt content: custom data pipelines, semantic model extensions, and custom KPIs
  • Configuring and loading external (non-Fusion) data sources
  • Working knowledge of the Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) underlying FDI, and of data refresh monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with FDI security and role configuration, plus augmented analytics and ML-driven features

  Fusion Data Foundation

  • Strong knowledge of the Fusion data model across Financials, SCM, HCM, and Procurement
  • Expert-level SQL and PL/SQL: analytic functions, performance tuning, and execution plan analysis
  • OTBI subject areas and analyses; understanding when to use OTBI vs BIP vs OAC

  Good to Have

  • OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud): REST/SOAP adapters, file-based integrations, scheduled orchestrations, and ESS job and BIP report invocation
  • Fusion inbound and outbound mechanisms: FBDI, HDL, ESS jobs, and REST/SOAP web services
  • Oracle Data Transforms or ODI for ELT into ADW/OCI
  • OCI services: Object Storage, Autonomous Database, and IAM basics
  • Fusion extensibility: DFFs, Application Composer, and Page Composer
  • Migration experience from OBIEE/OBIA to OAC/FDI
  • Python or JavaScript for scripting and automation
  • Git-based version control and CI/CD practices for BI artifacts
  • Oracle certifications (OAC, Fusion Financials/SCM/HCM, or OCI)

  Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop BIP reports, BICC extracts, and OAC content to meet functional requirements
  • Configure and extend FDI pipelines and semantic models
  • Build and tune data flows from Fusion to ADW and other targets
  • Troubleshoot extract failures, report performance, and data discrepancies
  • Support integration use cases, using OIC where applicable, to move data and trigger reports
  • Document technical designs, data lineage, and deployment artifacts
