Game Store Manager

Duties

• Lead and supervise the retail sales team, ensuring high levels of customer engagement and satisfaction
• Manage store operations including opening, closing, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) systems to ensure smooth transactions
• Oversee inventory management, including purchasing, stocking, merchandising, inventory control, and stock replenishment
• Implement effective pricing strategies and promotional campaigns to maximize sales opportunities
• Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions to enhance team skills in sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service
• Handle recruiting efforts by interviewing candidates and participating in hiring decisions to build a strong team
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping and payroll records while adhering to budget guidelines
• Develop marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing clients within the gaming community
• Ensure compliance with store policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
• Utilize management skills to supervise shift schedules, monitor performance metrics, and foster a positive team environment

Experience

• Proven management experience in retail or similar customer-focused environments with supervisory responsibilities
• Strong background in retail industry sales team management with experience in sales management and operational oversight
• Demonstrated proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and basic math skills for retail math calculations
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively through managerial communication techniques
• Experience in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding new employees, and conducting training sessions for staff development
• Knowledge of retail product lines related to gaming consoles, accessories, wireless sales, and entertainment merchandise preferred
• Familiarity with budgeting processes, merchandising strategies, marketing initiatives, and promotional planning
• Prior experience in grocery or electronics stores is beneficial but not required; a passion for gaming is essential
