Gaming Attendant

About the role

Caulfield RSL Sub-Branch Inc is seeking a Gaming Attendant to join our hospitality team in Elsternwick. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst contributing to the smooth operation of our gaming facilities. As a Gaming Attendant, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining the highest standards of compliance and safety across our gaming operations. Your presence and professionalism are essential to creating a welcoming and responsible gaming environment for all our patrons.

Key responsibilities

1. Monitor gaming machines and floor areas to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and RSL policies
2. Provide attentive customer service to gaming patrons, responding promptly to requests and enquiries
3. Assist patrons with gaming machine operation and explain house rules and procedures
4. Maintain accurate records of machine activity and report any technical issues or irregularities to management
5. Conduct regular checks of gaming machines to ensure they are functioning correctly
6. Enforce responsible gaming practices and identify signs of problem gambling
7. Perform cash handling and reconciliation duties as required
8. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the gaming area
9. Report any suspicious activity, breaches of policy or safety concerns to management immediately
10. Support other team members to ensure seamless operations during busy periods

What we're looking for

1. Strong customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
2. Knowledge of gaming machine operations and gaming compliance regulations
3. Excellent attention to detail and observational skills
4. Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach to casual work schedules
5. Ability to handle cash accurately and maintain confidentiality
6. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
7. Current or willingness to obtain a gaming attendant licence or relevant gaming certification if required by Victorian regulations
8. Experience in hospitality, gaming, or security environments is preferred but not essential for the right candidate
9. A commitment to responsible gaming principles and harm minimisation
