Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Garage Door Estimator / Technician to join our team. This role involves assessing customer needs, providing accurate estimates, and performing installation, repair, and maintenance of garage doors and related systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, construction experience, leadership, and excellent customer service abilities to ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Duties

• Conduct on-site assessments to evaluate garage door systems, including measuring openings and interpreting technical drawings or blueprints.
• Prepare detailed estimates for garage door installations, repairs, and upgrades based on customer requirements.
• Install new garage doors, including hanging doors, metal framing, and securing fixtures according to building codes.
• Perform mechanical repairs on existing garage doors and openers, utilizing hand tools and power tools efficiently.
• Execute electrical work related to garage door systems, ensuring safety compliance and proper wiring.
• Manage heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large doors or components on construction sites.
• Follow all safety protocols, building code regulations, and industry standards during installations and repairs.
• Provide exceptional customer service by explaining work performed, addressing questions, and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used for each job.

Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in garage door installation and repair.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and blueprint reading.
• Background in construction and carpentry is advantageous.
• Familiarity with building code compliance related to garage door systems.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly.
• Knowledge of electrical work associated with garage door openers and safety sensors.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude.
• Construction site experience with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
• Handyman experience or general remodeling skills are considered a plus.

Pay: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour
