GARDENER

Job Summary

The Gardener is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, beauty, and overall health of the organization's gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces. The role involves planting, watering, pruning, lawn maintenance, and ensuring that the surroundings remain neat, attractive, and well-maintained.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, gardens, flower beds, trees, and other landscaped areas.
• Plant flowers, shrubs, trees, and other ornamental plants.
• Water plants regularly and ensure proper plant care.
• Mow lawns, trim hedges, prune trees, and remove weeds.
• Apply fertilizers and appropriate treatments to maintain plant health.
• Monitor plants for pests, diseases, and other signs of damage.
• Sweep outdoor areas and remove leaves, debris, and other waste.
• Maintain gardening tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition.
• Ensure proper disposal of garden waste and maintain a tidy environment.
• Assist with landscaping projects and the arrangement of outdoor spaces.
• Follow safety procedures when handling gardening equipment and chemicals.
• Report damaged equipment, plant diseases, and maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of SSCE or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance is an advantage.
• Knowledge of basic gardening techniques, plant care, and lawn maintenance.
• Ability to operate basic gardening tools and equipment.
• Physically fit and able to perform outdoor tasks.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
