Gardener Supervisor

About the role

Henderson Demmer is looking for an experienced, hands-on Garden Supervisor to lead a small team maintaining some of Queenstown's most beautiful residential gardens. This is a full-time, year-round working supervisor role for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, has strong horticultural knowledge and experience, and enjoys supporting other people, checking quality and taking responsibility for the days work.

Key responsibilities

• Organising daily tasks, supporting your teammate and ensuring work is completed efficiently and to an exceptional standard
• Carrying out hands-on maintenance, including pruning, planting, weeding, mowing, fertilising and seasonal garden care
• Spotting the little things, identifying plant health issues and ensuring each garden looks its best
• Managing your tools and equipment, maintaining accurate job records and ensuring health and safety standards are followed

About you

• Strong horticultural knowledge and experience in high-quality garden maintenance
• Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting other team members
• A great eye for detail and a genuine passion for plants and gardens
• A good understanding of Queenstown's climate, seasonal conditions and plant varieties
• Organised, reliable, proactive and comfortable working independently
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
• Confidence with garden tools, machinery and equipment
• A full, appropriate driver licence (ability to drive a manual vehicle and confidently tow and reverse a trailer preferable)
• The physical fitness to enjoy hands-on outdoor work throughout the year
