Garment Technician (Fitting & Workmanship Specialist)

The Garment Technician (Fitting and Workmanship Specialist) is responsible for managing day-to-day technical development and sample approval processes, ensuring accurate execution of fit, construction, and technical specifications. This role works closely with vendors and NY Technical Design to support faster approvals and improved fit accuracy within the shortened development calendar.

Responsibilities :

Technical Development & Fit Execution

• Oversee pre-production technical activities including fit balance, measurements, construction, workmanship.

• Review and validate technical specifications provided by NY Technical Design and call out any discrepancies and limitations.

• Provide clear technical feedback to ensure accurate sample corrections and efficient approvals.

Sample Review & Approval

• Evaluate and approve counter/pre-production samples from non-accredited vendors to ensure compliance with specifications and fit standards.

• Support faster sample turnaround by providing precise and actionable fit comments.

• Review and audit the selected styles from the accreditation PPS by vendor and complete the audit status in PLM.

Vendor Collaboration

• Work closely with vendor patternmakers and sample rooms to ensure accurate interpretation of technical requirements.

• Guide vendors in pattern adjustments and construction improvements to achieve required fit standards.

Requirements :

• Secondary Education with at least 10 years relevant working experience
• PC proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint
• Well versed with the knowledge on pattern design, textiles, construction details.
• Good command of both English and Mandarin
• Hands on in using 3D software
