Self-Employed Plumbing and Heating Engineer – Emergency Callout

Location: Islington & Surrounding Areas
Monday–Friday | 8:00am–5:00pm

We are a busy plumbing and heating company based in Islington, providing a reliable emergency callout and maintenance service to the private sector.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Self-Employed Plumbing and Heating Engineer to join our team.

The Role

You will attend a variety of jobs across Islington and surrounding areas, including:

• Emergency plumbing and heating breakdowns
• Boiler diagnostics and repairs
• Gas Safety Certificates (CP12s)
• Boiler servicing
• Boiler installations
• General plumbing repairs and maintenance

Our office team will manage your diary and bookings, providing you with a consistent workload throughout the week.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve plumbing and heating faults efficiently
• Carry out gas safety inspections, servicing and installations to a high standard
• Complete all relevant paperwork and job reports
• Deliver excellent customer service
• Communicate effectively with customers and our office team
• Maintain a professional standard of workmanship at all times

About You

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in plumbing and heating
• Current Gas Safe Registration
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Domestic Plumbing and Heating or equivalent
• Relevant City & Guilds qualifications
• Water Regulations qualification
• G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification
• Valid Public Liability Insurance
• DBS clearance
• Full, clean UK driving licence
• Own van and tools
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Professional and well-presented
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently
• Able to work efficiently under pressure

Ideally, you will be based in or close to Islington/North London and have good knowledge of the surrounding areas.
