Job Overview

We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Gate Builders and Shop Help to join our dynamic fabrication and manufacturing team. In this role, you will be instrumental in constructing, installing, and maintaining gates, fencing, and related metal structures. You will work closely with skilled craftsmen to interpret technical drawings, operate power tools and welding equipment, and ensure all projects meet safety standards and quality expectations. Duties

• Assist in fabricating gate components and structural elements using sheet metal, pipe, and other metal materials in accordance with blueprints and technical drawings
• Operate power tools such as plasma cutters, grinders, drills, and saws to cut, shape, and assemble materials accurately
• Perform welding tasks including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and stick welding following AWS (American Welding Society) standards
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop drawings to ensure precise fabrication and assembly
• Measure materials using calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, and other precision measuring instruments to maintain strict tolerances
• Assist with welding, plasma cutting, fitting and operations as needed for fabrication projects
• Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment for all team members
• Support team members with shop math calculations related to measurements, material quantities, and fabrication specifications

Requirements

• Prior experience working on construction sites or in a metal fabrication shop environment is highly preferred
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW), and measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately; mechanical blueprint interpretation skills are essential
• Knowledge of metal materials including sheet metal fabrication and structural steel components
• Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to fabrication and welding practices
• Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in mechanical fabrication or shop math calculations
• Ability to work safely adhering to all safety protocols; OSHA safety standards knowledge is a plus
• Strong teamwork ethic with the flexibility to assist in various tasks such as rigging or pipe fitting as needed
• Construction experience or prior work on construction sites is advantageous but not mandatory

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
