Gate Clerk

Responsibilities

• Authorize and verify access for employees, visitors, delivery drivers, and contractors entering the facility or yard.
• Process inbound and outbound shipments accurately using warehouse management systems and inventory management software.
• Assist with shipping & receiving tasks, including loading and unloading trucks, using equipment such as pallet jacks and order pickers.
• Maintain detailed logs of all gate activities, shipments, and visitor entries to ensure compliance with trade regulations and security standards.
• Support order fulfillment by coordinating picking & packing activities and ensuring proper stocking procedures are followed.
• Conduct routine security checks including CCTV surveillance, fence inspections, and yard audits to uphold safety protocols.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff on logistics tasks such as load planning, inventory management, and data entry to optimize warehouse distribution processes.

Skills

• Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems like AS400 or MRP software.
• Strong knowledge of shipping logistics, order picking, packing, and inventory management principles.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers.
• Excellent data entry skills combined with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations related to inventory counts and shipment weights.
• Customer service skills to effectively communicate with drivers, visitors, and team members.
• Familiarity with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards relevant to shipping & receiving.

Pay: $23.65 - $28.48 per hour
