Role Overview

Responsible for management, support, upgrade and monitoring of database environments supporting CQG applications, infrastructure systems and services. Define, implement and test backup & recovery standards and best practices for databases integrity, security, data protection.

Responsibilities

• Monitor MS SQL transactional replication, SQL job executions and make corrective actions in case of problems
• Respond to ad hoc requests for data from other teams
• Maintenance and monitoring of database systems for optimal performance and availability of databases
• Design, test and implement Disaster Recovery, Backup and Restore strategies, standards and scripts
• Maintain and improve reporting and business-intelligence solutions
• Maintain and enforce corporate database security policies and controls for all database environments
• Manage hardware requirements for Production systems
• Troubleshoot networks, systems and applications to resolve database issues, assist developers, network administration, and applications support staff in diagnosing and resolving database-related application problems
• Execute regular deployments of schema and data changes to Production databases following preparation and testing by Product Development teams.
• Develop solutions to optimize monitoring and execution of regular operational procedures
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Database instances as necessary

Requirements

• 4 years of experience in SQL server Database Administration
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related business area is required
• Experience working with databases with high-transaction volume in a fast-paced, production environment is preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of Windows Server administration, security administration, network administration, and application development is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills, a self-starting attitude and good communication skills in English are essential
• Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment as a member of the production support team
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
• Experience maintaining high-availability systems (7x24x365)
• Experience with Backup & Recovery, Security, Performance monitoring and tuning
• Any experience with PostgreSQL and CassandraDB is welcome
