JOB DESCRIPTION:

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a seasoned manager with strong leadership and consulting skills to act as a leader within Everforth Apex Systems’ Solution Delivery Organization. This role will lead hybrid teams of internal and external consultants to design, develop, and deliver Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and infrastructure solutions for Everforth Apex Systems clients.

This role will also provide thought leadership for the consulting practice and will help to manage, mentor, and develop Everforth Apex Systems’ internal consultants in their career growth and development. This role is responsible for client deliverables as well as internal leadership and management of consulting professionals, and will help grow Everforth Apex Systems Google Cloud partnership and go-to-market offerings.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

Practice Leadership & Growth

• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of Google Cloud and infrastructure practice consultants.
• Support the execution of the strategic roadmap for the Cloud & Infrastructure (GCP) practice, including capability development, delivery methodology, and Google Cloud partner competencies.
• Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and professional development of practice team members, including a certification pathway aligned to Google Cloud (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer).
• Foster a Community of Practice that leads with innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and revenue growth.

Project Delivery & Oversight

• Oversee the successful delivery of large Google Cloud and infrastructure programs across multiple clients, including migrations, landing zone/foundation builds, and platform engineering.
• Provide hands-on leadership in project planning, execution, and course correction when needed.
• Act as an escalation point for project issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Champion delivery quality, security, reliability, and cost-optimization aligned to the Google Cloud Well-Architected Framework.

Solution Development & Standardization

• Oversee the design and implementation of repeatable, scalable, and standardized Google Cloud and infrastructure delivery solutions by the practice team.
• Develop reusable reference architectures, accelerators, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) modules and blueprints for Google Cloud foundations and platform engineering.
• Collaborate with sales and pre-sales teams to develop repeatable solution architectures and proposals.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies—including Google Cloud AI/ML (Gemini Enterprise Agentic Platform), data analytics (BigQuery, Spanner, AlloyDB), and containers (GKE / Anthos)—to ensure our offerings remain competitive.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

• Proactively provide solutions and approach adversity with a solution-focused mindset.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their business needs and aligning Google Cloud solutions accordingly.
• Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings, RFP responses, and solution presentations.
• Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and long-term relationship growth.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 8+ years of progressive experience managing cloud infrastructure consulting engagements—designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure. Preference for platform depth in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (multi-cloud experience across AWS or Azure is valued), with hands-on expertise across services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC / Cloud Networking, Cloud IAM, Cloud Functions / Cloud Run, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and Terraform.
• 4+ years of experience directly managing cloud and infrastructure engineers.
• Experience delivering Google Cloud migrations and modernization (lift-and-shift, replatform, containerization) and building secure cloud foundations / landing zones.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud data and analytics (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub) and AI/ML (Vertex AI) is a plus.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps tooling (e.g., Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI) and hybrid/on-prem-to cloud connectivity.
• Multi-Cloud Strategy Assessment and Recommendation (preferred).
• Google Cloud certifications preferred, such as Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Professional Cloud Network Engineer, or Professional Cloud Security Engineer.
• BA/BS required, preferably in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields (applicable education and experience may be substituted).
