About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled electro-mechanical individuals who will be able to perform on-site and telephone support, training, and repair service for G.D. customers. This individual will perform field service functions for manufactured equipment and any equipment sold with a warranty. Service work may include, but not limited to, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, PLC programming, wiring, circuit analysis, routine maintenance, repairs, modifications, machine setup, or training of customer personnel. This position requires domestic and international travel, roughly 70%.

General Responsibility:

• Proficient to perform field service for major tobacco with a working knowledge of all equipment.
• Start-up of machines in customer plants.
• Training customer personnel to properly operate and maintain machines.
• Assistance to customers when there is a breakdown.
• Performance of contracted or periodic maintenance of machines.
• Attainment of a working knowledge of all assigned equipment in the field.
• Customer check-out demonstrations at G.D USA prior to machine shipments.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Services machines in customer plants and provides service information by telephone.
• Assists customers in ordering replacement parts and sees that they are ordered properly.
• Trains customer personnel to properly operate and maintain equipment.
• Submits service reports, expense reports, daily time sheets, etc.
• Keeps in contact with customers to maintain their confidence in equipment and service.
• Assist customers by calling on phone for technical help.
• Decides for travel requirements; extensive travel required.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Service Manager or as circumstances require

What You Need to Be Successful

• 2-5 years of technical training in mechanical and electrical technology, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of packaging equipment, electrical and mechanical devices, and the control systems used for the equipment, a plus
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
