Gear Box Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced EV Gearbox Design Engineer with expertise in gearbox design, CAD modeling, and engineering documentation. The candidate will be responsible for design and development activities related to EV transmission systems, drawing updates, engineering change management, and product data management using Enovia.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop EV gearbox components and assemblies using Creo.
• Create, modify, and update 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Perform drawing revisions and maintain engineering documentation as per standards.
• Prepare and update CAD concepts for gearbox and transmission-related components.
• Work on DSFR (Design Specification/Functional Requirement) preparation and updates.
• Manage CAD data, BOMs, and engineering releases through Enovia.
• Support design validation activities and implement design improvements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, testing, and quality teams.
• Ensure compliance with GD&T, design standards, and product development processes.
• Support casting component design and optimization for manufacturability and performance.
• Participate in design reviews and engineering change management activities.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Creo for 3D modeling and detailing.
• good to have experience with Enovia for product lifecycle management (PLM).
• Good understanding of gearbox systems and EV drivetrain architecture.
• Knowledge of gear design fundamentals, gear calculations, and transmission components.
• Experience in casting design and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in engineering drawing creation, updates, and release processes.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and manufacturing standards.
• Ability to prepare and interpret design concepts, specifications, and technical documentation.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in vehicle transmission or gearbox development projects.
• Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R, and design validation activities.
• Knowledge of automotive product development lifecycle and APQP processes.
