Gen AI / ML Engineer

TCS is seeking a Gen AI / ML Engineer to join a collaborative and fast‑paced environment where technology and business come together to create meaningful impact. This role plays a key part in designing, developing, and deploying advanced machine learning and generative AI solutions that drive innovation, enhance decision-making, and create measurable business value.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong and detail‑oriented professional with experience in machine learning, large language models, and data-driven systems, capable of solving complex problems and collaborating effectively within cross-functional, global teams in a dynamic, multi‑initiative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning and generative AI solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Translate business use cases into scalable AI/ML models and applications.
• Build and optimize models using techniques such as supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP).
• Develop and implement solutions leveraging large language models (LLMs) and generative AI frameworks.
• Fine-tune, evaluate, and optimize models for performance, scalability, and accuracy.
• Collaborate with data engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver value-driven solutions.
• Integrate AI/ML solutions into production environments, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Develop pipelines for data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, and inference.
• Ensure best practices in MLOps, including versioning, monitoring, and continuous improvement of models.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize AI systems and workflows.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends in AI, ML, and generative technologies to continuously enhance capabilities.
• Document technical designs, experiments, and solution architectures.

Technical Requirements & Expertise

• Proven experience as an ML Engineer, AI Engineer, or Gen AI Engineer.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML/AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs) and prompt engineering.
• Experience with NLP techniques and tools (e.g., transformers, embeddings, text generation, summarization).
• Familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar orchestration tools.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and related AI/ML services.
• Understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data engineering concepts.
• Experience with MLOps practices, including model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of APIs, microservices architecture, and model integration into applications.
• Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures.
• Understanding of responsible AI practices, including bias, fairness, and model explainability.
• Experience in Agile environments and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
